Lamb

A Lamb for Every House

Exodus 12:3 "Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household."

This is my lamb:

Now, the significance of the Lamb for Every House is probably more symbolic than literal. After all, a little unblemished lamb in and of itself has no power.

God gives it power.

And the power of the lamb was so great that twenty two people could be protected under that banner. Twenty two people, from one little lamb! Granted, my lamb may be stuffed, but its still a powerful symbol.

Does this mean we’re likely to see a lamb signal in the night sky?

Probably not.

But I think it’s still important to recognize the significance of the lamb for every house.

Meat:

Gen 9:3 "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat."

When I read this verse, God spoke to me. He said :Rick, I want you to eat meat.”

So I replied: “Ok God, I’ll eat meat.”

And then God said: “Now that doesn’t mean you should eat nothing at all but meat, I want you to have a well balanced diet. Just make sure meat is a part of it.”

So I said: “Ok God, I’ll do that.” Then I ate a hamburger.

Now when I read this scripture:

Exodus 12:8-11 - They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it. Do not eat any of it raw or boiled with water, but roasted, its head with its legs and its inner parts. And you shall let none of it remain until the morning, anything that remains until the morning you shall burn. In this manner you shall eat it: your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste.

God spoke to me yet again. He said: “Rick, I want you to eat some lamb. You don’t need to roast it, but I want you to eat lamb.”

And I asked: “So does this mean I have to stop eating other kinds of meat and just focus on lamb?”

And God explained: “Oh no, you should still eat other kinds of meat. Just remember not to be gluttonous and to try and get some lamb whenever you can.”

So I said: “Thank you God, I’ll go get some lamb.” And I did.

Now, I know a lot of people are probably going to disagree with my interpretations of the scriptures, but you have to keep in mind: God spoke to me. He told me to eat lamb, and meat, and to eat a more or less healthy diet.
